Another Friday night of hockey is set to go down . Six games are up on the plank for October 18. One of those matchups set to go down will be between the Colorado Avalanche and the Florida Panthers. The Avalanche have been off to a start that was really strong and Florida will look to slow them downagain. This match will begin at roughly 7:00 PM Eastern time.
Colorado has moved 5-0-1 to start out the season, which has them. The Avalanche are coming from their first loss of the season in overtime. Colorado will try to bounce back following that loss with a street upset. I anticipate the Avalanche to continue to come out strong.
The Panthers have submitted a list that was 2-2-2 to open up the season. Florida is now in region of the Atlantic Division. The Panthers won their game to end a 3 game winning streak. Florida will look to build using the other win against the Avalanche that is streaking upon their triumph against the New Jersey Devils. This is their first match back home as October 8.
The Avalanche have experienced one of their best starts this year, although Florida is still flying about that mediocre part. The chemistry has not quite clicked yet it seems, although the Panthers left a lot of moves in the offseason to try and up their game this season. Florida will have to come out quickly if they would like to knock off Colorado on Friday.
The Avalanche and the Panthers met up two throughout season. Florida hosted the first game of this year and maintained it connected through 2 periods. Even though to pull off with a 5-2 win colorado scored three times in the next stage. The match was a match that is much closer. Mike Hoffman scored to tie this up. Hoffman added two assists, including one about the overtime winner, as Florida won 4-3.
Colorado is coming off their first loss of the year. The Avalanche won each of the past five games by two goals or more. Colorado has ever had a very strong showing from their line. Mikko Rantanen has four goals and five assists. While Gabriel Landeskog has just two goals and four assists nathan MacKinnon has three goals and six assists.
The Panthers were able to finish their game road trip out . Florida lost their two matches in a shootout to the Buffalo Sabres and the New York Islanders. Mike Hoffman leads the team in points and goals with three assists and five goals. Jonathan Huberdeau evgenii Dadonov, Brett Connolly, Vincent Trocheck and Aleksander Barkov have five or even more points.
Colorados special teams was firing on all cylinders to start out this year. The Avalanche have scored 6 of the 25 power play efforts to get a 24 percent conversion rate. Colorado has stopped opponents on 14 of the 17 chances throughout the entire year, which can be an 82.4 kill percentage. The Avalanche do a good job and have a solid penalty kill.
The Panthers have put up a strong team also this season. Floridas power play has scored on 5 of the 23 attempts for a 21.7 percent. The Panthers penalty kill has additionally been doing really well, turning away 13 of their 15 energy plays against them, and it is 86.7 percent. Just like Colorado, Florida is still a team, so they dont give a lot of power play chances up.
Both of these teams have power plays and penalty kills so far this season. Both teams are going to have great chance to capitalize when they really do get the chance, although I do not feel that their are a great deal of power plays within this matchup. That I expect groups to play a role, although I think that with the top line of the Avalanche, their power play is a little more dangerous.
Philipp Grubauer is expected to get the start in net on Friday night. Grubauer has gone 4-0-1 in his five starts this year. He has a save percentage of .922 and a GAA of all 2.57 through those starts. Grubauer had a list of 18-9-5 throughout last season, with a .917 save percentage and a 2.64 GAA, that helped lead Colorado into the playoffs.
I feel that Sergei Bobrovsky will get the start in the crease for the Panthers. Bobrovsky has launched this season with a record of 2-2-1. He has made a .870 save percentage along with a GAA of 3.90 in those five games. Year Bobrovsky was using the Columbus Blue Jackets, at which he had a record. He finished with a save percentage of .913 plus a 2.58 GAA.
These two goalies are both very strong, but Bobrovsky has not been performing the very way to begin this year. The Panthers will need if they want to move up the standings Bobrovsky to bump up his game. Grubauer continues to be off to a start this year and hell look to maintain up it to maintain that starting task.
The Avalanche are currently coming in their very first loss of the year and that I believe they will bounce straight back with a road win in this game. Florida has had a tough schedule to start out the season and they have not been able to find their rhythm. Colorados starting lineup was on a roll and that I do not believe they will be slowing .
BetOnline has the Panthers recorded as a -123 from the money line, meaning that Florida will win this game around 55.2% of the moment. The Panthers are strong, but I dont feel that they should be this big of favorites from the Avalanche. As an underdog, Colorado includes a lot of significance. In case Grubauer keeps his play up along with Colorados special teams can continue performing well, I think that the Avalanche will require this one.
