Danzeno, third favourite with a few bookmakers for your William Hill Ayr Gold Cup, is unlikely to take his opportunity.
Together with the ground drying out and rain prediction, trainer Mick Appleby anxieties conditions would be in Saturday’s Heritage Handicap against him.
Appleby is pleased to wait for conditions while it’s a blow to connections, provided the eight-year-old has returned to something approaching his very best form this season.
“I really don’t think he is likely to move, now the ground has dried up,” said Appleby.
“He’d have conducted if the floor has been good to soft. Nonetheless, it looks like it is going to be great to company, and when that.
“It’s a real shame, since I think he’d have had a really good chance as he has come back to shape.
“I’ve nothing special in mind, (but) there are a number of races within the next few weeks we could have a look at to him.”
