It has been a wild ride so far as I continue to stay in this competition of 282 entrances above water. After six weeks, Im tied to eighth position, a half-point out of seventh, one game from two points out of first, that pays 40% of the pot.
Ive experienced some ups and downs, and definitely a few lucky breaks.
In Week 1, I went 6-1 but my loser was Nebraska -4 in Colorado. The Cornhuskers were up 17-0 at the half gave up 24 from the fourth quarter and then still had a chance in OT but head coach Scott Frosts drama calls were so terrible and the Buffs pulled out a 34-31 OT win. That craziness prevented me.
In Week 2, I went 3-1 with college dogs and that included taking West Virginia +6.5 at house vs NC State along with the Eagles of Eastern Michigan +7 against Big Ten college Illinois. Did both cover but they won straight up. When you are pulling games out up like this you do gain a little bit of confidence.
In Week 3, it was a 2-5 overall beatdown, my only losing week. I had many losses per week and they did exactly this, although I did predict Appalachian State to triumph by a field goal vs UNC. I touted Michigan over Wisconsin per week and this match was a failure from the start. Then Id the Falcons +2 against the Colts and then they lose by three despite outgaining the Colts in each stat except that the one thats the scoreboard and that counts.
At home versus the Patriots and a lot, I had been confident with all the in Week 4 and that I was lucky to pay that match with a point.
That included Oregon State as a puppy that won up along with Stanford as a 16-point dog that also won up and in school I went 4-0-1 in Week 5 and the two groups won by 5 digits. WOW… I actually have to pat myself on the back for those 2 Pac-12 beauties. I pulled out a tie +11 together with West Virginia because I have a touchdown with 10 seconds left fourth-and-10 from the Texas lineup.
In Week 6 I have learned the hard way to not gamble against the Wisconsin Badgers again and dropped in a blowout. Im 0-2 gambling against them and both games were done by halftime. Wisconsin might be the best team in the nation if you do this and sleeping on them at this stage is just silly. But aside from that, I moved 6-1 ATS for the third time. I went in the competition taking the Houston Texans to 2-0. I won together +5 vs the Chiefs and at Week 1 when they were +7 from the Big Easy against the Saints.
So in all, I am still in it at 28-13-1 and can just hope I create intelligent selections and if I use the drive, toss a coin or toss darts to create themit doesnt matter as long as I continue to be around the ideal side more often than not.
