Unai Emery insists Shkodran Mustafi still has Arsenal future

Shkodran Mustafi still has a long time in the group after deciding to stay in the Emirates this summer, manager Unai Emery has insisted.
After struggling for first-team games the Germany centre-back was recommended to depart by Emery near the end of last year, and that he was of attention to the likes of Monaco and Juventus.
But a movement failed to materialise and Emery says Mustafi has been coaching well and was given a clean slate this year.
“Mustafi decided to be here and when he did, because of me personally, he is just another player like others in the team,” the Spanish manager stated before Arsenal’s clash with Watford, live on Sky Sports on Sunday.
“Obviously I respect his choice and, even when he decided, I spoke with him said’for me you are in the squad and I am going to work with you as with another players’.
“I really don’t know all exactly what was in his decision (to stay) however, when we spoke and he chose to become here, it was a beginning with him as yet another player in the group.
“He’s working daily with a big motivation and decent experience. That is what we need, training with good experience, helping and, after, providing us his performance”
